Well now someone else with a lot of money has bought the car at a charity auction for £800,000 ($1.6 million). The bid was made at the 9th Annual White Tie to raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe won’t make it to North America until this summer with a price tag of $407,000. Rolls-Royce has now begun full production of the new car.

The two-door, four-seat convertible is hand made at the company’s manufacturing plant at Goodwood, and combines the latest aluminium technology and engineering with the very best in hand craftsmanship.

Overall the event raised in excess of £6 million, with £3.1 million raised at the auction alone. The Rolls-Royce was bought by a private buyer who will take delivery of his new car later in the summer.

Via : www.egmcartech.com

AUTOEBID LEADS THE WAY IN ETHICAL CAR BUYING

Award winning online reverse car auction company AutoeBid is putting dealerships to shame when it comes to greener motoring issues. A new survey in June's Motor Trade Barometer has revealed that less than a quarter of dealerships had considered stocking greener cars in the past year, though 71% were aware of the green impact to their business over the next 2 years. AutoeBid has responded to the growing concern of the effect of motoring on the environment, by pushing forward two features covering green cars and CO2 emissions.

AutoeBid.com’s new search facility allows web visitors to view and sort cars by their environmental friendliness rating, to create an initial shortlist purely on the basis of CO2 emissions. AutoeBid is also offering to offset 3 tonnes of CO2 for every car bought through their ‘Greener Motoring’ section of their website, at no extra cost. Given that 80% of Brits say they factor in ‘greenness’ when weighing up brands, the fact that not one person has yet chosen to take this option on their website is staggering.

Amin Saleem, Founder of AutoeBid said; “Buying a greener car is just one thing that people can do to reduce their Carbon Footprint. Whilst dealerships are slow in recognising this, AutoeBid makes buying green easy. Buyers now have the added bonus of opting to offset 3 tonnes of CO2 emissions on each purchase. Now there’s no excuse for buyers not to do their bit for the environment”. Once the car of choice has been selected, buyers can then outline their requirements, while the site will pay to neutralise their emissions at the same time.

The Society of Motoring Manufacturers and Traders has also revealed that while only 13% of new car buyers rate emissions as the most vital factor when buying a new car, this equates to around 299,000 of new car sales in the UK in a year. This figure may be the signal to the motoring industry, to embrace a greener stance on car sales and emissions where AutoeBid.com are already forging ahead and setting the benchmark. However, the car has not garnered much interest with only two bids being placed on the site. The first was on the 26 June at ?23,200 followed by a lower bid of ?23,100 on 30 June. Tom Hogan Motors donated it at cost price and a reserve price was placed on the item.

The auction is scheduled to end tomorrow, Thursday 5 July.

Cllr O Brolcháin chose the Prius over the usual Jaguar received by the City Mayor due to the lower emissions. The final sales figure greatly exceeded the $8-$9 million RM staffers predicted before the event.

Two cars in McMullen's collection sold for more than $1 million, a 1931 Duesenberg Model J Tourster and a 1931 Cadillac V-16 Phaeton.

The Cadillac brought in $1.056 million, or $66,000 a cylinder, enough to buy a new Cadillac for each of the 1997 Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance winner's cylinders. The car was originally built for Charles Howard, owner of legendary Triple Crown winner Sea Biscuit.

The Duesenberg, which was originally built for comedian Joe E. Brown and later owned by Howard Hughes and Los Angeles Times publisher Otis Chandler, sold for a breathtaking $1.4 million.

RM spokesman Terry Lobzun said while his firm runs 15 to 16 major classic car auctions annually in the U.S. and Canada, only three or four are estate auctions like the McMullen Collection.

Don Gernatt Jr., national director of the Classic Car Club of America, made the trip from Collins, N.Y., to "see how RM performs." Collins, who described himself as "semi-retired," said he's been thinking of downsizing his collection of more than 50 classic cars.

Clarkston resident Patty Barnett said she was "excited and saddened" by the auction.

In recent years McMullen's secluded 300-acre estate has been a popular stopping place for members of high-end car clubs and a gathering place for charity events. McMullen said he's hosted as many as 300 people at a time at the collection.

A Flint native, McMullen started selling cars in 1951 and opened his first Pontiac-GMC dealership in Troy in 1967. Since then his business has grown to include seven dealerships in Michigan and Florida and he is still active with them.

"I still go into the office two, three days a week," he said.

Starting with a 1931 Model A Ford, McMullen's collection eventually grew to 140 vehicles.

"I've always had a fascination with cars." he said.

At its peak the collection included vehicles from every era, including a number of notable custom and concept cars.

McMullen has been a frequent face and winner at major car shows like the Concours D'Elegance events at Meadowbrook, Pebble Beach and Amelia Island.

He's also been a frequent donor to automotive museums. McMullen said he's holding 13 electric cars for a friend from Clarkston who plans to build a museum in Rochester Hills.

However, he decided to auction off the bulk of his collection to people who would use them rather than give them to museums because "cars are like people, if you don't exercise them they go bad."

McMullen added in recent years it's simply become too much work to do the required maintenance work and enjoy the collection, so he decided to trim down to 20 vehicles he can go touring with.

"I haven't had any health scares," he said, "but nobody lives forever."

By PHIL FOLEY
Via : www.countypress.com

Immigration enforcement earns big bucks for Bisbee

BISBEE — The selection of vehicles up for bidding at the June 23 Bisbee police auction was enough to make any used car salesman envious.

There were sports cars, like a 1998 red Ford Mustang convertible; luxury models, like a 1995 Lincoln Town Car; and plenty of vans and trucks.

Some were surplus city vehicles, sold off to make room for new upgrades. But according to Sgt. Taron Maddox, spokesman for the Bisbee Police Department, the majority had been seized after local officers found them carrying illegal immigrants northward through the city limits.

By the end of the auction, 55 of the vehicles had been sold, raising a total of $56,806 for city coffers. When added to the approximately $220,000 the U.S. Department of Homeland Security promised the city earlier in the year, this meant that Bisbee has raised a quarter of a million dollars so far in 2007 by helping to fight immigration-related crime.

This sum represents a significant chunk of change for the city, which began the 2006-2007 fiscal year with a total budget of $18.1 million and a police department budget of $1.77 million.

However, some local residents complain that the financial incentives for enforcing immigration law along state highways encourage the police to act as a revenue generator for the city while distracting them from more pressing local security needs.

Double duty

According to City Manager Steve Pauken, the funds offered by Homeland Security come as part of Operation Stonegarden, a program that helps local authorities in the southwest recover costs incurred from enforcing border security.

So far in 2007, Bisbee has been given two $100,000 grants plus approximately $20,000 for a police radio upgrade, Pauken said.

“Homeland Security extends funds for its Operation Stonegarden to a lot of law enforcement agencies in Southern Arizona, but the agency that receives the most money is the Bisbee police,” he said.

“We get more money than the Tucson Police Department, more than the Sierra Vista P.D., more than the Douglas P.D., you name it. Pick an agency and we get the most money, and that’s because we do the most effective job.”

Bisbee resident Ken Wallace, who owns a home and a business in the Brewery Gulch area of Old Bisbee, believes the local cops are less effective at cracking down on the real public security problems facing the city.

“I’m a lot less concerned about illegals than I am about the meth heads up on Brewery Gulch,” said Wallace, who feels that immigration enforcement has taken police attention away from town and focused it on areas like Highway 80 along the Lavender Pit mine.

“(Stopping carloads of illegal immigrants) is a cash cow for the city, but if the money’s not being used to provide services to the citizens, who cares?” Wallace said. “A lot of people will tell you that all the Bisbee Police Department is willing to do is to sit out by the pit and stop people who look Mexican.”

Pauken, however, says that immigration enforcement is not an either/or proposition for the city, since officers working on Operation Stonegarden are working overtime hours, not during their regular shifts.

“The side benefit that a lot of people don’t realize is that if we have a call, those officers who are working overtime on Stonegarden can support the officers who are working the regular shift,” Pauken said.

“It actually puts more Bisbee cops on the street rather than less. It’s a winning situation for the city of Bisbee.”

Asked if police officers feel any pressure from the city to work the Operation Stonegarden shifts, Maddox said, “Absolutely not.”

A touchy issue in the past

Wallace’s suggestion that Bisbee police use racial profiling to stop carloads of illegal immigrants is not new.

Similar allegations in 2000 led to a series of public meetings and an investigation of the Bisbee Police Department by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. The investigation ultimately found no evidence of wrongdoing, but even so, the city’s insurance provider announced that it would not grant coverage against a racial profiling suit.

Immigration-related car seizures became an issue in the 2000 mayoral race, with the eventual winner, Dan Beauchamp, promising to end the practice.

Making good on his pledge, Beauchamp announced in January 2001 that the city would no longer seize and sell vehicles. Instead, he said, the Border Patrol would have to take charge of both the vehicles and the illegal immigrants that were stopped by local cops.

“We’re getting out of the used car business,” Beauchamp said while announcing the policy change.

Beauchamp went on to serve two terms as mayor before stepping down at the end of 2004. Reached at his new home in North Carolina, the former mayor expressed some ambivalence about Bisbee’s return to a more aggressive immigration enforcement role.

“Homeland Security policy puts a lot of pressure on communities to enforce the law against illegal entrants, and I don’t think it’s unreasonable for Bisbee to get its share of (the associated funds),” Beauchamp said.

“However, I think it is reasonable for Bisbee residents and the City Council to determine with the police whether this border surveillance is interfering with the primary duty of being responsive to local policing needs.”

In regard to the vehicle seizures, Beauchamp’s successor, Ron Oertle, said the June 23 car auction did not necessarily suggest that the city is back in the business.

A major reason for the sale, the mayor said, was that the city needed to get rid of an accumulation of surplus municipal vehicles. And Sgt. Maddux noted that a number of the seized vehicles were 1990s models that had sat in the impound lot for several years.

As for questions about the police department’s ability to serve both the people of Bisbee and the Department of Homeland Security, Oertle said he had seen no conflict.

“Is there a policy to back off on local crime? Absolutely not,” he said.

BY Jonathan Clark
Via : www.svherald.com

Dealers pay less for ex-lease cars without MoT

A POLICY of routinely obtaining an MoT for 3-year-old ex-lease cars could increase disposal values by £200 - £300.According to used car dealers, that is the figure they will most commonly knock off the CAP Black Book clean market value when acquiring a 3-year-old car for stock, which does not have a current MoT, from auction or via part-exchange. The absence of an MoT does not deter the vast majority of dealers from acquiring a 3-year old car, but they will use it as an opportunity to 'chip' the price by anything up to £500. Almost half of dealers researched by CAP say they routinely reduce the price they are prepared to pay by £200 - £300, in comparison with a car that does have a current MoT. Despite contract clauses that often stipulate that it is the driver's responsibility to put their car through the MoT before handing the vehicle over at the end of a 3-year term, such conditions are frequently not enforced - to the cost of the lessor. According to Black Book valuation relationship manager, Robert Hester, disposers are likely to get back more than they invest in the clean presentation of 3-year-old ex-lease cars, including a current MoT. "The used car dealer's job is to acquire the car for as little as possible and the absence of an MoT is an ideal excuse to chip the price as hard as they can," HE SAID. "But the majority of 3-year-old cars pass the MoT with little or no work required, at much less cost than the £200 - £300 most commonly knocked-off the value by dealers looking for the cheapest possible high quality retail stock. "This means that failure to enforce contract terms making the driver responsible for handing the car back with a full MoT, or for the lessor to arrange the MoT themselves, leads to significantly lower disposal values than necessary."V5 inconvenience The Black Book research also delivered a reminder of the need to keep all paperwork intact on disposal. Almost one in three dealers will not consider purchasing an ex-lease car at all if the V5 document is missing. Almost a quarter of dealers who are prepared to take on the responsibility of acquiring a replacement V5 ensure that they are adequately compensated for the inconvenience by paying £500 less for the vehicle than its current market value with all documentation intact."It is time consuming for dealers to obtain replacement V5s and many operate a strict 60-day or shorter stocking policy so they need to turn cars around for sale as quickly as possible. "The market is also well supplied at the moment, so they see no need to be buying that kind of inconvenience unless they are guaranteed a larger than usual profit at the end. But it should be remembered that such additional profit ultimately comes from the lessor's pocket."

Finding Your Best Deal By Using Car Auction Sites

Your old car just went to pieces today and you have very little money in your pockets. Perhaps you could look at the very limited selection at one of those local car dealerships that offer financing on a high sticker price made even higher by the interest rates they plan on charging you. You could go to the bank for a loan and beg the loan officer to give you some cash at a very high interest rate. You could do either of these things but you wish there was another option. Well, there are other options and they are called car auction sites.

How Do Car Auction Sites Work?

If you want to avail yourself of this great money saving opportunity, it may prove helpful to learn a bit about car auction sites first. Car auction sites offer a wide range of vehicle choices due to their very nature. The automobiles being auctioned are usually placed up for bid by individuals or small auto dealerships so prices can range from the no reserve car auction to items that have a preset price or at least some reserve on the car where the seller has the right to refuse to sell unless the price goes higher than his stated reserve price. Thus if a seller put a vehicle on an car auction site with a reserve of two hundred dollars and the highest bidder only bid one hundred ninety dollars, the seller would have the choice of selling the car for the one hundred ninety dollar bid or refusing the sale and relisting the car thru another car auction site.

There are a few things to consider before bidding on car auction sites as well. One major consideration is the location of the vehicle and the cost and method of shipping. The automobiles sold on car auction sites are located around the globe so pay close attention to where the car is located before bidding because all bids are considered final and legally binding as contracts and if you win the bid you will be expected to fulfill your contractual obligations towards the purchase.

Another consideration before bidding on car auction sites is the reputation of the seller offering the vehicle you are looking at. Car auction sites such as Ebay Motors have a great way of making sure you know the sellers reputation. Every buyer and seller on Ebay has a rating. It is generally considered a very good practice to buy from sellers who have high ratings and good feedback. This helps to insure that your experience with car auction sites will be a pleasant one.

Author: Mark Lindsay

http://www.articlesbase.com/autos-articles/finding-your-best-deal-by-using-car-auction-sites-107911.html

A Few Words About Car Dealer Auctions

Car dealer auctions are becoming quite popular today. Case in point: the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition. The German automaker has made some 300 modifications to the base SLR McLaren, an already amazing car in its own right, in an effort to produce an even badder machine - a super supercar, if you will.

Mercedes says it is targeting the SLR 722 (the vehicle was first unveiled last summer with the automaker recently holding a premier for it in Dubai) towards the true car aficionado who appreciates and collects fine automobiles. It's aimed at not merely the ultra wealthy, but someone who understands Mercedes and its history. In a culture where even Paris Hilton is regularly seen at the wheel of a standard-issue SLR, the 722 helps separate the true megabucks enthusiasts from the Hollywood poseurs.

It all starts with the name. You can bet Paris wouldn't have a clue what 722 means, but she can be forgiven, you'd have to be a Benz historian to really know. The 722 designation is gleamed from Mercedes-Benz's historic 1955 Mille Migila victory with legendary British driver Stirling Moss and navigator/journalist Dennis Jenkinson in the cockpit of a 300 SLR. That year's now fabled Italian road race was won due to a combination of the sheer competence of the 300 SLR, the driving prowess of Moss, and the famous "toilet paper roll" navigation aid that "Jenks" invented and relied on to read his detailed notes on each twist, turn, and dip of the course. The 300 SLR wore the race number 722 because 7:22 a.m. was the team's assigned starting time.

But enough history. What exactly is improved on the SLR 722 Edition over the standard model? Well, virtually everything, and now we know all the details. The hand-built by AMG 5.5-liter V-8, with 650 horsepower on tap, features all aluminum construction, special cylinder wall liners, lightweight forged connecting rods and pistons, oil injection, a revised twin-screw supercharger and dry sump lubrication. The car's five-speed transmission has been programmed to optimize throttle characteristics for quicker shifts. The changes have lowered the 0-62 mph run to 3.6 seconds (versus 3.8 for the standard version) and heightened top speed to just north of 209 mph.

The suspension features extensive use of forged aluminum to add strength and reduce unsprung weight (the SLR 722 Edition is approximately 97 lbs lighter than the base SLR). The spring and damping rates were adjusted through testing on the road, track, and in the McLaren Formula One facilities in Woking, England. The result is a stiffer suspension that lowers the car 10mm over the standard model and reduces body roll by an impressive 20 percent. Poking out from behind the lightweight 19-inch forged aluminum wheels are massive 390 mm carbon ceramic brake discs developed by Brembo.

Perhaps most impressive is the amount of effort expended on making the SLR 722 Edition more aerodynamically efficient than its predecessor. Indeed, Mercedes claims that approximately 100 hours were spent in the wind tunnel developing a carbon fiber front splitter that increases downforce on the front axle by 128 percent, while reducing the drag coefficient. At the rear, small carbon wheel spoilers clean up the airflow around the rear axle, also generating downforce. Under heavy braking, an airbrake rises into the airflow to create additional rear downforce and aid in directional stability.

The interior too has been given the once over by Mercedes-Benz, resulting in leather and Alcantara upholstered seats, doors, and roof with contrasting "300 SL red" stitching. The steering wheel, handbrake lever and shift knob are covered in suede, carbon fiber is prevalent, the shift levers are now aluminum, and the number 722 has been embossed on the headrests and seatbelts. Even the instrument cluster has been redesigned with round gauges, a red background, and the addition of the AMG Racetimer function on the digital display.

Outside, a special crystal antimony grey paint finish is available to mimic the original 300 SLR's unique color and carbon fiber is not painted, but finished in clearcoat to allow the intricate weave to remain visible in reflection of the car's Formula One heritage.

Mercedes-Benz says that only 150 examples will be hand-constructed, making it more exclusive than the Ferrari Enzo. At last report, the 722, which has been available for sale in Europe since late last summer, was not heading across the pond.

Via mtt

'67 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2

Kathy and I made it home safely after an 18 hour drive out of ElPaso. Here is a short glossary of the most commonly used terms:

Authentication - Documentation that a car is as represented; especially important for vehicles claimed to be rare special editions.

Big block/small block - Refers to the displacement of V-8 engines, measured in cubic inches. Typically, a "big block" exceeds 400 cubic inches, while small blocks can range from 265 to 350 cubic inches, unless modified for racing. advertisement

Hemi - Short for "hemispherical head," a term used to describe the shape of cylinder heads. Describes a series of Chrysler Corp. high-performance engines.

Homologation - A requirement that the manufacturer produce a certain number of a particular model car for sale to the public to qualify that model for racing.

Mopar - Parts and accessories for Chrysler Corp. vehicles, including high-performance parts.

Muscle car - Certain American cars from the 1960s to early 1970s enhanced by the manufacturers with high-performance engines and other parts, such as the Pontiac GTO and Plymouth Roadrunner.

NOS - Stands for "New Old Stock." These are leftover manufacturers' parts, which are preferable in exacting car restorations.

Numbers-matching - Literally means the serial numbers of a car's engine and transmission match to the chassis. Indicates a completely original car.

OEM - Stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer." Refers to original parts as opposed to reproduction parts used to restore a vehicle.

One-off - The only one of its type. An original car that has few production parts, especially in the body.

Pony car - Smaller and lighter than most "muscle cars," the class of pony cars was created by (and named for) the Ford Mustang and included the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird.

Prototype/concept car - A prototype is a very early version of a manufacturer's model, often hand-built, to prepare the model for full production. A concept car is a manufacturer's hand-built example of what a model might look like if approved for production.

Provenance - The history of an automobile that makes it unique and increases its value. Provenance may be a history of famous owners. For a racing car, it means the races won and famous drivers who drove it.

Resto-Mod - An automobile restored to look as it did originally but equipped with a modern engine, transmission and/or suspension to improve its performance and comfort.

Shelby - Refers to the cars built or modified by ex-racer Carroll Shelby.

Trailer queen - A restored automobile that is never driven, but instead travels from car show to car show on a trailer.

Scottsdale Republic http://www.azcentral.com/community/scottsdale/articles/0121sr-auction21glossaryZ8.html

The Power Of Online Auctions As Traffic Generators

by: Brian Sakamoto

There are thousands of online auctions on the internet. People love them because they can usually find great bargains. If you have an online business, you can use them to increase traffic to your web site.

You could create an electronic book or report that relates to your online business, then auction it off at an online auction. You could increase traffic to your web site by placing an ad for your web site in the electronic publication. Some online auctions will even allow you to link directly to your web site.

Electronic publications won't cost you anything to ship. You could send them via e-mail or allow people to download the electronic publication from your web site. You can also auction them off for a lower price. When they visit your web site you could offer them a higher priced product.

You could also get traffic from people who don't bid or don't get the winning bid. You could direct them to your web site to download and read a free sample of the ebook or report before they bid. If they want more detailed information about the ebook or report, you could also direct them to your web site.

You can also get traffic to your web site by auctioning a physical product. Print your web site advertisement on a flyer or brochure then insert it into each product package you ship.

Before you start auctioning any product at an online auction, read the terms and conditions. Some auctions may not allow the auctioning of electronic products or directly linking to your web site where you have other products for sale.

By Brian Sakamoto is a wbmaster of http://www.theaffiliate-business.com and http://www.marketingonlinepro.com. Although they are being used for quite a long time now, in the last few years we have seen an increasing desire for people to buy cars from car auctions.

What people surely realized is that although usually the vehicles that are being sold at a car auction aren't new, they are in pretty good shape and are also pretty cheap. A new market that is starting to grow more and more with every passing year is the one of Japanese cars. And this can be seen in the car auction industry too. The Japanese import car auctions are starting to become more and more attractive for people who need a reliable car.

People have now realized that the Japanese import cars are some of the best in the market. The Japanese import car auctions are based on the idea that people know and will easily find out if they don't, that the Japanese cars are some of the most reliable cars in the world. Also they aren't too expensive and they have great performances. The design is also starting to improve, in order to satisfy the taste of other cultures as well.

The Advantages of a Japanese Import Car Auction

The Japanese import car auction has a few advantages. One of them is that from such auctions you can buy a good car without having to spend all your savings. The Japanese cars are usually in great shape and are also less expensive than other types of cars. For example, the German cars are much more expansive than the Japanese import cars.

Another reason why the Japanese import car auctions are wanted is that everybody knows how reliable the Japanese cars are. Also they don't require too much maintenance and the spare parts are also pretty cheap. You don't have to spend big if you have to repair something on your Japanese car.

What to Look for in a Japanese Import Car Auction

When at a car auction, and the Japanese import car auction makes no exception from this rule, you have to look for several aspects before actually buying a car. The main criteria and the most favorite ones also, are the vehicle's condition and price.
These aspects are as normal as they can be. When buying a car you definitely want to buy one that is in good shape, so that you won't have to spend more money on its repairing.

About the Author: If you are looking for a car auction you should stop by the best online car auction site.

The American Car Auction

By Mark Lindsay

Every year the need for cars is constantly growing. And there's no better place to find bargains than an auction. And there are no better auctions than government surplus auctions. My favorite government surplus auction takes place the 3rd week of September every year in the County Park. I won't tell you which county park as this is my best-kept secret! Even though the auction is advertised in the local papers (as required my law), I usually find the same 20-30 people mulling around, looking at all the lots. And many of them I know are not high-bidders!

This annual auction is the county-wide surplus auction. You will find everything and anything here as the county has various and departments. They have the typical office equipment and furniture, cars, trucks, law equipment, etc. But some more unusual things that have been auctioned off have been things like a street sign maker (for making stop signs and the like), a row of metal lockers (from the old county pool), playground equipment, 5000 plastic cafeteria trays (that sold for $8!), a stainless steel chef's cart, a chrome torpedo trash can, and a fully operational dump truck that went for several hundred dollars.

Since I have been attending for many years, I know what to expect and I know how much to pay. For example, they typically have a dozen retro office chairs that sell very well on ebay. The opening bid on the chairs is usually $5.00 each. However, by not bidding, I can usually wait (and luckily no one else knows what a gold mine these chairs are?they just look like dirty old chairs!), and the auctioneer will lower the opening bid to $3.00, then $2.00, then $1.00, then fifty cents! Still, I am patient and wait as he throws in two or three more chairs for fifty cents! My last trip to the auction, I netted seven chairs for $4.00! I turned around and sold them for $25.00 each!

This is just one of the examples of the deals that I have found at the County Auction. The secret to my success is three-fold:

1. I know what is "hot" in the market by browsing ebay, watching HGTV, and flipping through home magazines.

2. I know what the going retail prices are and keep these in mind when I am bidding. I usually arrive at the auction early with a notebook and check out all the lots that will be auctioned. I jot down the lots numbers and the highest price I am willing to pay for that lot.

3. When the bidding starts, I wait for someone else to start the bidding. I place myself so I can "read" how badly they want the item. I will wait to place my bid. I never get caught-up in the bidding. And I always bow out at my high price that I wrote in my notebook. This way I can avoid buyer's remorse!

Using these tactics, I have successfully won many items at the local auction and have made a huge profit reselling these items. If you use these techniques, you will also be successful at your local auction. I just hope you never find my gem of an auction, and never bid against me!

by Dean Novosat regularly attends local government auctions and participates online.

There are a whole lot of things that can be put to auction. There are auctions that are held under various categories such as antiques and art, automotive that include vintage cars, motorcycles, accessories, etc. The other popular items include clothing and accessories of film stars and sports stars, scripts of movies, sports goods. The jewellery auctions selling intricately designed precious jewels and gem jewellery are extremely popular.

There are auction houses where you can go and bid for the things of your liking. The auction houses have a calendar holding the sale on a particular theme. You need to submit details such as name, address, telephone number and banking or credit information as is specified by the salesroom where you are going to bid. A unique number, known as the Client Number, is going to be allotted to you. A paddle is a plastic card bearing a number that is registered at the auction. The paddle is raised to bid and the auctioneer calls out the paddle number of the successful bidder at the time of selling each lot. When the gavel falls the auctioneer announces the hammer price. The hammer price is the final bid price, which does not include a buyer's premium. The buyer's premium is the money that is paid separately by the buyer to the auction house. It is a percentage of the final bid price.

Sotheby's and Christies are two very famous auction houses. Samuel Baker founded Sotheby's in the year 1744. However, today this premier auction house has branches on the Manhattan's York Avenue and New Bond Street, London. The New York office was opened in the year 1955. In the year 1964 Sotheby's acquired the Parke-Bernet, which was the largest art auction house of America. This acquisition helped Sotheby's gain a sizable presence across America. James Christie founded Christies in the 18th century. A man having very charming demeanor, James Christie's clientele included the British royalty as well. The auctions of Christies include some 80 categories. Their sales rooms in America are at the Rockefeller Center, New York and North Camden Drive, Los Angeles.

Auctions these days are not just limited to the auction houses. There are lots of websites that are into the business of auctioning. You can list the products you want to auction and invite bidders. You can specify the time when the bid closes as well as other terms and conditions. You need to specify that shipping and the other supply costs are to be borne by the buyer.

Click on the item of your choice and get set bidding.

by: Sintilia Miecevole host of http://www.futurauction.com loves to go to auctions, just like you!

Family Feud with an Auction Deadline ? Adventures in Probate/ Estate Purchases

One of our investor students told us of an interesting probate deal or "adventure" they're working on now and while it's a good story, it also illustrates lots of the ins and out of probate or estate issues and purchases.

The Seller (we'll call him Scott) co-owned this house with his mom, and he co-signed on the loan with mom. Mom has been deceased for 3 years now.

Scott says his sister lives there and is not making the payments, so the mortgage is behind 6 months in payments, and he's ready to sell the house. He said Mom left no will for her estate, but there are 6 other siblings. If that's not enough of an investing adventure for you yet?Scott then tells us that the bank is threatening foreclosure.

They're not just threatening?.we discover that the house is scheduled to go to the courthouse steps in 3 weeks. Why would anyone even try to purchase a mess like this with a short timeframe? Well, Scott owes $33,000 + $5000 in back payments on a cosmetic, light fix-up $10k rehab house that's worth about $140,000 when it's all fixed up. So let's do a little math to see if there's just a wee bit of profit in it.

ARV $140k minus Rehab $10k minus BuySellHold $21k minus Profit $25k equals MAO $84k

So the max we could afford to offer on this house is $84k, and he has to have $38k to cover the mortgage and the back payments, say another $35k so that each Scott and every other sibling/heir gets $5k profit too. That's a total of $73k, still leaving $11k EXTRA profit for the investor!! There IS big money to be made if you understand issues like these!

Now, how do we work through the estate stuff. Well first we (or Scott) would have to negotiate this price with all the siblings to reach agreement on their share. Next they'd all have to verify that "mom didn't leave a will". If so, Scott could petition the probate court to appoint him as Administrator of the estate and he'd have to run a notification of the estate ad, and get all the siblings to sign document agreeing to his being made Administrator. Now Scott could sign the Purchase Contract as "Scott, Administrator of the Estate of Momma".

If the siblings said "no, Mom DID have a will"?.then we'd spank Scott for fibbing, and see who was appointed as Executor of the estate in her will. That person would then have the court probate the will, and run an ad. Then the Executor would have to sign the Purchase contract as "[Name], Executor of the Estate of Momma", and sell the house and distribute the profit to the sibling/heirs as described in mom's will.

In the meantime, don't forget the upcoming foreclosure auction either. It's a race between the probating and the foreclosure to see who will hit the 'finish line' first. So the investor (she can say she's a friend of Scott, just helping out) will need to talk to the lender or their foreclosing attorney, in order to stall the auction.

She'll need to get a 'statement of account' to find out what the loan balance is, and also what the back payments, penalties and attorney fees add up to. These additional fees could be paid by the investor as preparation for a subject-to purchase. The risk is that if there is no will AND the sibling/heirs couldn't reach a quick agreement on price, she'd have to keep making monthly payments to the lender to prevent foreclosure but she wouldn't yet own it until (hopefully) the siblings reach agreement and appoint Scott as Administrator.

I can hear you saying "but the investor could try for a short sale purchase direct from the lender, and not worry about all these siblings and probate issues"?.problem is she can't get all the borrowers (momma's deceased) to sign all the short sale paperwork, and she doesn't yet have the property successfully probated to have a new legal Adminstrator/Executor that could sign either.

So no one can yet legally sell, nor sign short sale paperwork until either estate is probated or the lender forecloses and takes back ownership of the property?.the clock is ticking?we shall see.

Best of success & abundance,

Lou Castillo

by: Lou Castillo http://www.InvestorSuccessTactics.com

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://auctioncarone.blogspot.com/2007/01/family-feud-with-auction-deadline.html' title='Family Feud with an Auction Deadline ? If there's at least one fact you didn't know before, imagine the difference it might make.

The information about eBay auctions presented here will do one of two things: either it will reinforce what you know about eBay or it will teach you something new. Both are good outcomes.

Many first time eBay sellers have one thing in common ? their eBay auctions flop. Many of them flop time and time again, with the seller never understanding what is going wrong. The seller ends up doing hours of research looking for the perfect item to sell, gets the auction set up, and waits for the bidding to begin. Hours go by and no bids are placed. Days go by, and there are still no bids ? or there are very low bids. Finally the auction ends, and it turns out to be a total failure. Considering the huge number of sellers who run eBay auctions, there are specific things you must do, and specific things you must not do if you are to be successful.

There are many reasons why eBay auctions fail to produce. The most common reason is that the item is not in high demand. This problem can be avoided by doing the necessary research to determine which items sell well, and which items should be avoided. This research takes a great deal of time ? but in the end, you will find that it is time well spent.

Another reason for eBay auction failure is pricing. No matter what your reserve price is, your opening bid price should never be more than $50. A low starting price is how you will attract potential bidders to your auction. If you set that opening bid too high, most people won't even click the link to read the description for your item. Another pricing problem is lack of research. Before you set your reserve price, you must determine what your item is really worth, and the price of similar items that have sold in past eBay auctions.

Poorly written descriptions are another cause of failed eBay auctions. Poor grammar and misspelled words drive people away. Failing to post a picture of the item will also keep people from visiting your auction page. Pictures show the buyer exactly what he or she will be getting and give them an idea of the true condition of the item. Make sure that your item description is well written. A well written description with enough detail about your item is essentially your sales copy.

Exhorbitantly high shipping prices scare people away from eBay auctions too. Find the lowest shipping prices that you can find, and consider paying for the shipping yourself if it won't cut into your profits too much. Do not charge handling fees.

Offer great customer service for all of your eBay auctions, and ask your buyers to give you feedback. If the items that you sell are everything that you said they would be, and you offer great customer service, you can expect wonderful feedback ? and this feedback will help a great deal in your future auctions.

Those who only know one or two facts about eBay auctions can be confused by misleading information. The best way to help those who are misled is to gently correct them with the truths you're learning here.

About The Author

Greg Lietz is an internet businessman and frequent eBay user. When the lease expires, these vehicles are sold to the general

public at GSA auctions, which allows the GSA to re-coup some of their

expenses and re-invest in more vehicle purchases.

Benefits of purchasing a vehicle at a GSA auction:

1.) American made vehicles - trucks, cars, SUV, police car, buses

and many other types (approximately 40,000 vehicles to choose from

per year)

2.) Vehicles are generally well maintained (by the US Gov't). These

are not specialized vehicles or repossessed.

3.) Vehicles generally have low mileage

4.) Vehicles are generally 3 to 5 years old

5.) Let me give you some answers for the most frequently asked questions about auctions.

What is an Auction?

An auction is one of the first means of doing business and profitable exchanges. History books show that art, land, crops even people were being auctioned off in the past. Hey, even the Roman Empire was auctioned.

What about Automotive Auction?

An auto auction is the ideal environment for car dealers to remarket their cars. This is the perfect opportunity to make the big bucks and get that great sell that you have been waiting for. The true market value of the vehicle is also determined once a vehicle is put on an auction block.

Auto auctions exist to market cars. Its main objective is to make the deal fast and accurate. It serves as the impartial trading floor which offers security and integrity to the participants. It also varies in size depending on the number of employees, cars or how big the area they occupy.

Auto auctions may also offer different services like, repairs, reconditioning, financing, arbitration and a host of other services.

How do I participate in an auto auction?

As there are a number of auction houses available, choose a reputable auctioneer to buy or sell your car to. Keeping in mind the kind of car you want to sell or buy, the geographical convenience and the services the auction operators offer, these factors will determine the auction you will want to participate in.

Be also aware if the auction is an open or closed auction. Open auctions, as the term suggests, are open to any registered dealer. Most auctions are open but may be tailored to specific kinds of vehicles like car fleets, rentals, repossessed units or special dealer consignments. A closed auction is limited to specific participants.

It is also advised to check the websites of the auction houses you want to participate in. It is a good idea to request for an auction tour. This will give you the chance to inspect their facilities and operations. This is also the best time to ask and clarify details such as the biding process, services offered and other questions which comes to mind when you are inspecting the lot.

Once you have decided which auction house to participate in, get the necessary paper work done and be sure to have an identification card and a bidder's badge. If you are buying, get a hold of the ?run list', which is a computerized list of vehicles being auctioned off on a specific date, the commercial consignor and similar information. It is also a good idea to get a sales lot parking plan. Vehicles are typically grouped and the parking lot plan will help you locate which lane to go to.

What is a ?floor price'?

Also known as the ?reserve' or ?low', the floor price is the lowest price the seller is asking for. If the price is not met while on the block the seller can lower it to attempt a sale. If the floor price is still not met, the vehicle can be placed in the "if bid" where the bidder agrees to buy the vehicle if the seller agrees to his offer in a specific period of time.

How do I evaluate the vehicles?

There are usually pre-selling inspections where you can appraise the vehicles that are being auctioned off. Each vehicle has a windshield marking where information like the seller's name, model of the vehicle, mileage, run number and lane assignments are posted.

For a fee, post sale inspections are also available in some auction houses, where auction mechanics are available to check the engine, air-conditioning, brakes, frame, transmission and the rear end.

It is also wise take advantage of the free arbitration services which protects the interests of both the buyers and sellers of the vehicles. You can also test-drive the sold car if you present a valid I.D. to the arbitration department. Most auction houses have test tracks, so make use of this service and be assured that you got your money's worth.

What happens after I won the bidding?

After your purchases have been completed, go to the front office of the auction house and finalize your transactions by making the required payments. The title is then transferred to your name. A gate pass will be issued for your purchased vehicle.

What are Internet Auctions?

Auction houses are taking advantage of the present technology available to them. Cyberlots or cyber auctions allow sellers to post their vehicles on the net, including photographs and information about the specific car they want to sell. Most cyber auctions have limited time frames.

About the Author: Perry Gibson is a long time auto auction attendee and also, co owner of http://usautoreview.com Here he helps shed some light on auto auctions

Online Car Auctions Can Take You for a Ride

The Internet has provided the public with a useful and convenient tool that makes it easier to do all manner of things than it used to be. One of these things, oddly enough, is the sale of motor vehicles. It seems strange that cars would sell well on the Web, as one would think that buyers would want to "kick the tires" before making a purchase. The success of eBay Motors, AutoTrader and other online sites devoted to the sale of motor vehicles would suggest otherwise, as business at those sites is thriving.

Consumers who wish to purchase a vehicle online should be aware of a popular scam perpetrated by crooks who wish to steal your money ? the wire transfer scam. The seller offers a vehicle for sale that he or she doesn't really have; they often just post a stock photo or one they found somewhere. The sellers often indicate that they are located in Europe, and they insist on a wire transfer, such as Western Union, for payment. Once the buyer sends the money, the seller vanishes, never to be heard from again.

This scam has been going on for some time, and most of the online auto auction sites encourage their customers never to pay for a vehicle using a wire transfer, even if the seller promises to use escrow to ensure the safety of the transaction.

Here are a few tips for those people who are shopping for a vehicle online:

# Ask the seller if you can stop by and see the vehicle in person. Someone who doesn't actually have the vehicle in his or her possession will almost certainly refuse. Even if you have no intention of paying a visit, just asking to see it could be useful.

# Watch out for auctions that feature stock photos or photos from brochures. Anyone with a real car to sell should be able to take a picture of it.

# Beware of any seller who will only accept a wire transfer for payment.

# Beware of a seller who says the vehicle is in another country but offers to pay the shipping to the United States. This is a common ruse used by scammers in other countries.

# Watch out for a vehicle that is offered for sale at a price that seems too inexpensive for the model. A $25,000 car offered for $10,000 should set off bells in your head.

# If on eBay, check the seller's transaction history to see if they have a record of actually selling vehicles. Scammers sometimes hack into eBay user accounts and sell using the name of another, established user. If the seller is selling a Harley but has a history of only buying compact discs, watch out.

While buying a vehicle through online auction sites is a good way to purchase one, buyers should exercise the same cautions as when they buy anything else on the Internet. If you are buying an expensive item and you are not familiar with the seller, be careful.

About The Author

©Copyright 2005-06 by Retro Marketing. The first thing you need to do before inviting guest to your auction is to make sure that your auction house is in a good location. Your location should stick out like a sore thumb. Make sure that you have the best antique furniture available in your area. Remember, quality furniture is the key.

Make sure that you have a solid marketing plan for your auction. More importantly, make sure that you have a solid budget. Thirdly, make sure that you have a strong advertising campaign. One way to advertise is to invest in a website and display a few of the pieces that will be present at your auction sale.

As stated earlier, it's important that you have a solid budget?money makes the world go round and money is everything (when it comes to having your own business. Next, make a decision on your budget. At this point, it is better to obtain the exact figures you are going to allocate in purchasing your antique furniture, so that you can set your expectation straight right from the start. This means you will be seeking only those shopping areas that have furniture with a price tag that you can afford, rather than take a random visit to all places.

Finally, you need to select antique outlets which can give you furniture with the appeal you want, and within the budget you propose. A great place to begin your search is the online SmartPages of phone book. Look into the section for wholesale furniture dealers or discount furniture stores. If investing in a physical warehouse or auction site is beyond your budget, you might want to consider investing in a online store. This way you can attract more people from around the world.

Towards the end of each month antique stores analyze their sales. There should be a promotion advertised in your local paper as well as on the Internet. It is also a good idea to surf the internet for antique furniture. You can offer these benefits on your online auction house. The Internet allows buyers to search for quality items rather than traveling on foot just to find top of the line furniture.

If you decide to have a traditional auction, make sure that you are well prepared for the big event well in advance. Everything should be perfect down to your choice of fresh brewed coffee to serve your guest as they bid on your furniture.

About the Author: Cathy Peterson writes about ekyds Promo Codes and BedBath Promion Codes

Car Tech Auto Auction ? The Place To Buy A Car

In today's world the car has become a necessity since long ago. It's not just used for sports or as a hobby, people use it for every day life and for all kind of things and activities. Think about it a little.

You probably can't even imagine your life without the car. When people go to work or to the supermarket they use their cars. Cars are being used for everything that people do. Unfortunately for some of us, a car doesn't come for free. But there are also some good news.

If you ever wanted to buy a car but didn't have enough funds to do so, you should know that there are places where you can have a car for a relative small amount of money. One of these places is the car tech auto auction. From a car tech auto auction you can have a car that isn't new, but with whom you will be able to do your work.

What is the Car Tech Auto Auction about?

The car tech auto auction usually deals with used vehicles that are being salvaged and afterwards resold. The car tech auto auction is usually a great deal for both the buyer and the dealer. From such an auction people can have their cars for a very reasonable price, cars that they may never afford to buy them new or from another place.

From the car tech auto auction people can leave with their dream car and still have some money left in their pockets. This is actually the main idea of this type of car auction: a place where people can come and buy a car without having to spend big. And we aren't talking here about some rag, we're talking about a car that can really be driven. It may not be new, but with a little luck you can even find cars with only a few thousand miles, and this means that they are almost new.

The car tech auto auction is the perfect place where you can buy a car for your child or even for you, if you don't have enough money to buy a new one.

Although they have enough money to buy a new car, some people still buy them from these kind of auctions because they trust in the quality of the services that they offer and in the cars that are being sold here. After all, regardless of how much money you have, you don't just want to waste them on things that you can have for a much less sum, don't you agree?

About the Author: If you are looking for a car auction you should stop by the best online car auction site.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://auctioncarone.blogspot.com/2007/01/car-tech-auto-auction-place-to-buy-car.html' title='Car Tech Auto Auction ? The ordinary people would still use the old ways of transportation. So the car's utility wasn't fully understood not until in the 20th century. Now the car is an object that is no longer thought to be a hobby but a must, it is now an utility. People can no longer imagine their world without the automobile.

Unfortunately for some of us, cars are still too expensive. Not everybody can afford to spend a lot of money on new cars. That is why the car auctions are so successful today. This type of auction is used in a lot of countries, and is now a common practice.

In the United States the number of car auctions has increased since a few years ago and is constantly increasing. There are car auctions in every city, there are car auctions in L.A, car auctions in New York, car auctions in Sacramento, and so on.

The car auction in Sacramento for example, has nothing more or less from the car auction in L.A. All the car auctions work around the same idea: used cars that people can buy for a lower price.

What are Car Auctions Really about?

For dealers, the car auction is a great marketplace, a marketplace full of opportunities and a very important part of their business. The car auction represents the meeting point where both socializing and big transactions take place.

Because we first took the example of the car auction in Sacramento let us continue with this one. Cars end up at a car auction for all kind of reasons. It's the same here, with the car auction in Sacramento. One of the reasons why cars end up at a car auction, for example at the car auction in Sacramento, is their age.

Many dealers offer all sort of leases and other types of facilities. When returned, these "off-lease" cars will end up at a car auction. This happens because it is much easier and also more convenient for the dealership to use the car auction system instead of just trying to sell them and place them in a car lot, especially if the vehicles are well used.

Another way how cars can end up at a car auction is that their companies are trading them. The companies' cars are usually traded after some years, and the car auction is the best place where they can be sold. That is why the car auction is the best place where you can either sell or buy a used car. It's the same at all the car auctions, regardless of their location, and it's the same at the car auction in Sacramento too, just in case you were asking.

Auctions: Sold

SOLD! To an auction aficionado, there is no sweeter word. Auctions are fabulous places to find unique items and bag big bargains. But before heading off to that great auction you've been waiting--and saving--for, take the time to follow some auction tips that can make you a better bidder.

Check It Out
Before the bidding starts, it's always a good idea to attend a preview or acquire a catalogue of the items up for bidding. Following this precaution will ensure that the items you are interested in are actually what you want or need. Call the auction house to confirm the time and location of the sale. In some cases, auctions can be abruptly cancelled. Calling before you actually travel saves you time, money and energy, and lets you avoid the disappointment and frustration of arriving to find the auction will not be taking place.

Ask and Inspect
Don't be afraid to ask for a thorough inspection of the items up for bid. Most auctions feature used merchandise, and rarely do these items come with any sort of warranty or guarantee. The most effective way to ensure your satisfaction with the items you purchase is to request an inspection. If the item you're interested in is reported or claimed to be faulty, be sure to verify exactly what the fault consists of. Ask the auctioneer if you can have the item tested. If the item needs to be fixed or modified, you can take the repair costs into account in determining your maximum bid amount. Motor vehicle auctions will usually grant a grace period. The winning bidder is allowed a pre-determined length of time in which the may be returned if it is found to have problems. Ask the auctioneer if warranties or grace periods are in effect.

Set Your Limit and Stay Within It
Auctions can be exciting, competitive, emotional and even aggressive. It's easy to lose yourself in the moment, and be taken in by other people's bids. If the competition gets hot and you can't bear to lose "your" item, you can easily go above and beyond your spending limit. Nothing beats old-fashioned discipline. Set a maximum price for each item, and try to stick to it. If you purchase five items and spend twenty dollars more on each one, you've gone a full one hundred dollars beyond your limit. Some auctions will tack on extra fees on top of the actual bid price, such as premiums or fees for guarantees. Local taxes may also apply. Be sure to check on sale conditions before you begin bidding. Consult with the auctioneer, or refer to the catalogue.

Not Exactly As Illustrated
Understand that catalogues are not written in stone; therefore any items included in them are subject to change. If you have your heart set on a particular item, consult with the auctioneer or preview the piece before you bid.

Watch and Listen
You already know that it's important to preview the items very carefully. It's equally important to hear what the auctioneer is saying. Listen carefully to the auctioneer's description of the items up for bid. There may be changes, defects or exclusions that you were not aware of. For example, that dining room set you've had your eye on may not be sold with the chest of drawers.

Auction sales present a whirlwind of excitement and huge savings opportunities. Take the time to make educated bids, and you may indeed find the bargain of a lifetime.

About the Author: Charles Taylor writes for several popular web sites, on business and technology and small business subjects.

Auctions: Sold

SOLD! Which means 1 cent auctions in the auctions listings linking to your eBay store will be a thing of the past.

How am I going to get feedback quickly to get a store or use the Featured Items or Buy it Now options in selling goods?

Or how am I supposed to become a Powerseller now? Lots of people have become Powersellers using this technique but how are we going to do it now?

Well we can still have 1 cent buy it now products in our eBay stores. But they are not listed in auction listings I hear you say.

How well do you know the Advanced Search function of eBay? Or more importantly how well do your customers know it?

You can get all the 1 cent listings from store's inventories by using the Advanced Search function a little creatively.

How will your customers know about it?

Well you can educate them and yourself, if you not too familar with the Advanced Search, by referring to this article, and believe me they will thank you for it.

I used this search technique to build my feedback up to enough to open a store as well as buying a few Christmas pressies so that all my feedback was not from 1 cent auctions. Some buyers will look at what your feedback contains so its good to have a few non 1 centers in there!!

Okay so here is how to use the Advanced search to find 1 cent store listings on the main http://eBay.com site. I'm sure the same logic applies to your localised eBay site.

1. Go to the eBay home page and select Advanced Search

2. Leave Enter Keyword or Item Number blank and select Everything Else for In this Category.

3. Leave everything else blank and ticked as default settings until the Show Only Section.

4. In the Show Only Section tick Buy it Now Items and Store Inventory items only.

5. Select Price: Lowest First in Sort By.

6. Press the search button.

7. You may get an error page or you have thousands of items to scroll through so click on information products from Categories list on the left so that you get mainly digitally delivered products.

8. Now by this point eBay probably doesn't remember that it's supposed to be searching byPrice Lowest First so make sure this is selected in the Sort by: Box.

9. Search through the 1 cent listings and pick out the interesting ones or whatever takes your fancy, buy and start building up your feedback.

10. Always check the postage cost when the listing says 1 cent as there are a few people who will put a high price on the postage and packaging even though it is a digital item.

Okay you now have in your hands a way to keep using the 1 cent auction. Use it wisely and make your customers love you and your feedback astounding!

About the Author: Helen Farmer as The Auction Reporter compiles a great monthly newsletter summarizing the best eBay techniques, strategies and news. One popular site has a market share of 76%, reports 42.7 million users recording a growth rate of 100% every year!
What are these auction buyers looking for?
A poll conducted by Harris Interactive on 2,196 people shows that online auctions appeal to people for the following reasons.

- Bargains (43 percent)
- Hard to find items (23 percent)
- Collectibles (21 percent)
Not just that, a record 83% people have actually bought something!
Buying What?

People visiting auction sites buy all sorts of products from different categories, but it simply doesn't mean that everything and anything sells. What is critical, in this context is Targeted Marketing, more so, since auctions, as days went by has become a serious business line. This makes self-targeting easy for sellers to find buyers easy.

Making items available on auction sites is easy!
Although serious auction sellers have a website, it is not necessary to own a website and generate traffic with advertising. You can join a reputed auction site by registering with them, which is fast and easy. And for immediate returns and to generate income with little registration fee, this a much better approach to e-commerce.
The fundamental formula for online selling:
Provide something the buyer is looking. Having a target and product in mind is important.
Make a list and put them in order
The list should be attractive.

The process is simple, costs low and formula easy. But buying cars from auctions can be very complicated. This is particularly true for the uninitiated. Of course the cars in auctions are generally cheaper. But they are cheap because they lack the guarantees that come with cars bought from dealers. The rules in auctions are simple, you bid an item, you pay for it, and you own it.

There are basically two kinds of car auctions, local car auctions and online car auctions. Each of the auctions works differently. Each has a different set of rules so you must study them very carefully if you are planning to buy a car from either kind of auction.

If you want to buy a vehicle in a car auction you must first pre-register with the local auction you want to join. The pre-registration process won't take much of your time and will provide you all the essential information that you will need in order to buy a car. An auction site will often have an auction staff who will explain to you the rules of their auction site and the procedures and instruction on how to participate and bid on the cars.

It is wise to inspect the cars before the actual bidding begins. Ask the auction organizer or staff if they can allow you to take a closer look at the cars before the start of the actual auction. Another wise decision is to set your payment limit before the actual sale. This way, you won't fall victim to the trap of overbidding.

As in other auctions, it is very important that you signal your bids carefully to the car auctioneer to avoid confusion. Settle your transaction as soon as the auction ends. Look for the block clerk and settle your accounts with him. A car auction staff will usually be available to assist you when you are ready to pay for the vehicle you have won. He should also be able to guarantee you a good title for the vehicle.

Most auction sites would accept check or credit card if you cannot pay the car with cash. An auction staff will also usually give you a third party financing offer. It is advisable though to have your own finances ready before entering a car auction. Outside financing is usually cheaper than most in-house financing of auction sites.

Ask for an invoice copy from the auction staff. This will enable you to drive or ship your newly bought car to your location. Most car auction managers will give you good deals on shipping arrangements so inquire about this.

There really are no significant differences between a local auction and an online auction. Online car auctions work more or less the same way as local ones. The only disadvantage of online auction sites is that you won't be able to inspect the car as you would in an actual car auction. In participating in online car auctions be sure that you will be provided with all the necessary information about the car upfront and that there is an actual photograph of the vehicle.

Cars bought from an online auction are usually shipped to the buyer for a minimal fee. Inspect the car immediately upon arrival at your location to minimize risks.

You are now ready for your first car auction. Car auctions are a fantastic way to save money on a car. There are a lot of ways to save money on a car that don't include insurance fraud or outright theft. Buying a new car can certainly seem like a smart decision if you can save some dollars, however car auctions are where the pros get their cars. They can generally be found in all states and happen at least once a month. The trick to buying a car is to buy it at wholesale (like a used car dealer would). Just like all auctions, there are deals to be found through just a little extra leg work. Here are 2 tips to help you in you car auction quest.

1) Use the internet to your advantage. Online resources can be a great help to people who are looking to attend their first car auction. Google the term "car auction KY" or "car auction MI" to look for local car auctions in your state. Also, if you live in a small state (like a state in the northeast), make sure and look for car auction locations in nearby states. For example, if you live in Eastern Pennsylvania, you might want to try looking for "car auctions NJ" or "car auctions NY." Often times, depending on where you live, a car auction might be happening in a nearby location that's just over the state line.

2) Look through the local classifieds section of your newspapers. Here's something that not a lot of people know. Classifieds sections of newspapers can be a tremendous resource due to the fact that a lot of bankruptcy auctions need to be listed in paper by law. This can be to your advantage because these auctions aren't the normal auctions that take place and therefore might not attract a lot of attention from potential bidders.

There are a whole bunch of other tips that make these seem almost introductory. Learn them all and you could be on your way to a nice car for a low price.

About The Author

Ryan Tenney is author of "Top Car Auction Tips."
